The September 2025 Quilt Sampler Block is named Signature Friendship. This block is made with Flying Geese and Flip-and-Fold Corners. The center Flip-and-Fold corners are 3/4 the size of the center base square, for more detailed math, go to the calendar event here. If you use fabrics which we can identify as having been purchased from Charmed Needles at any time, you make at least a 12" block, and you finish it by September 30, I will give you $3.75 in store credit. That is the average price of my Fat Quarters, so you essentially get a free Fat Quarter if you make the block!

There is no charge for this program, and there is no commitment for you to do every single block. Make the blocks you want to make and have time to make, then bring your finished block into the shop, email me a picture of it, or send me a Facebook message with a picture.

Dazzle Block of the Month

This 9 month block of the month truly does DAZZLE. Featuring Vibe, a new basic collection by QT Fabrics, Charisma Horton created a dynamic block of the month for quilters of all skill levels to enjoy making!

This 9-Month Block of the Month Program will be held at 11 am on the First Saturday of each month, from October 2025 - June 2026. Bring your sewing machine and make your block in the shop each month. If you prefer to simply purchase your monthly kit and make it at home, that's ok, too!

Each month, you will get the pattern pages and enough fabric to make that month's block. Be sure to save any leftover pieces from these strips, as you may need to use them in future months. In June 2026, not only will you receive the fabric for the last block, but also you will receive the fabric for the binding and the backing of your quilt. You will have two choices for a backing fabric, one is 108" wide in Navy color, so no seaming is necessary. The other option is standard 42" wide fabric in Blue, so you will need to seam your backing. In total, with all the monthly kits, you will receive over 14 yards of fabric.

This is a traditional BOM program, in which you will pay the initial $7.92 registration fee to save your place in the class, then $29.33 for your kit each month. If you are not in the area, you will need to pay the monthly shipping cost for your kit, too.

Because nobody is perfect, you can also purchase an optional Oops Bundle of 5 Fat Quarters and 11 Fat Eights for $38.71 to have on hand to fix any "Oops" you make.

Ongoing Block of the Month Programs

Both Kaleidoscope and Allure Block of the Month programs have already started, but there is still room for additional participants in each of them. You will need to contact me directly, if you wish to sign up, as I will have to manually override my system which thinks it should close registrations after the first class date.

Emergency Home Repairs May Mean the Shop Could Be Closed on Occasion

On Sunday, June 8, a car slammed into our home, severely damaging two rooms. Repairs will hopefully be finished sometime this month, but I don't know exactly when I may need to be closed on so that I can be home with contractors, insurance adjusters, etc.

If you desperately need to purchase something on a day we are closed, please call the shop phone. I will forward all those calls to my cell phone, and since the house is only 1 mile away from the shop, I can get there quickly.

We don't know how many weeks it will take to get our repairs done, just that it will be several. We appreciate your patience while we deal with insurance, contractors, and everything else to repair our home.

It's Summer Quilt Show Season!

I have been receiving information from various Quilt Guilds and other groups who are hosting Quilt Shows this Summer. I have put them all on my calendars, and there's still one more quilt show that I know of this summer:

Weekly Open Sew

Want to stitch and socialize? Have a brief question on any technique? Bring any fiber arts project and come down to the shop to work on it. Open Stitch is every Friday during business hours.

The third Friday of most months, we extend Open Stitch late into the night, and we call it Quilt Till You Wilt. We will stay until the last person leaves. Bring one or several fiber arts projects and come socialize through the night. Feel free to bring food to share, as well.

Monthly Lace Day

Join us the Second Tuesday of each month to make lace! All types of lace: Bobbin Lace, Tatted Lace (both Shuttle and Needle), Knitted Lace, and Crocheted Lace. All skill levels are welcome, we usually have some skilled lace-makers here who are willing to teach beginners. There is no charge for this social lace-making event.
