These needles are long with round eyes and are traditionally used in the art of hat making. They are also used for pleating and creating fancy stitching commonly known as smocking. These are also often used in Brazilian (Dimensional) Embroidery as they have the same size diameter of the shank and the eye, so wrapped stitches, such as bullion stitches, pull through easier.
