Blue Bear Quilts’ head designer, Reed Johnson, was an attorney for 35 years and chose to pursue his love of quilting. He has taken several courses with nationally known quilt instructors at APQS shows and several quilt designing courses at Electric Quilt University. He has taught nationally and is a certified Quilt-in-a-Day quilt instructor. He is known for his bold patterns and his kindness and patience when teaching. In 2016, he won the Fan Favorite in the Accuquilt Block Design Challenge and in 2017, he was the Grand Champion of the same contest. He currently designs quilt patterns for Accuquilt.
